We keep your private information private

We do everything we can to keep your private information truly private. When you order something from us, you obviously don't want prying eyes to make off with your personal data. You're right.

We do ask for information from you so that we can help you as best as possible. You can read below what information we request and what we use it for. You can also see what your rights are, who has access to your data and how long we keep your data.

This privacy policy was last modified on December 12, 2021.

What are the 'legal grounds' for using your data?

According to privacy legislation, we must say what 'legal grounds' we have to use your data. We need information from you because of the contractual agreements between you and Arisenn, such as your purchase of a product or your right to warranty. This is the case with:

  • Order & pre-order
  • Delivery
  • Return & repair
  • Contact our customer service

In addition, we can use your data for 'legitimate interest'. This means that we want to provide all our customers with the most optimal, personal service. We always think about your privacy. This is true for:

  • Reviews & customer satisfaction surveys
  • Contact our customer service
  • Visit from the Arisenn website
  • Account
  • Newsletter & email
  • personal advice
  • Actions
  • Social media
  • Security, WiFi & cameras
  • The Arisenn App
  • Personalized advertisements within other media

We may also have a legal obligation to use your data, for example when we suspect fraud. And sometimes you have given us permission to use your data, such as when you sign up for the newsletter. We keep this up to date.

Who has access to your data?

We only pass on your data to other parties if this is really necessary for our services. This concerns these parties: delivery partners, suppliers or repairers, product support, payment partners, trade information agencies, IT service providers and parties that collect our reviews. After all, our delivery partner must deliver your order to the correct address and it is nice if a repairman comes to your home to fix your refrigerator. And don't accidentally show up on the neighbor's doorstep with a working refrigerator. Parties such as data management platforms, media and advertising agencies and research agencies come into the picture as soon as we want to give you personal advice or show targeted advertisements, for example based on your interest in certain products. In suspicious situations we are obliged to share customer data with government authorities.

The parties that receive access to your data from us may only use it to provide you with a service on behalf of Arisenn. Unless they are responsible for obtaining and protecting your data. Some cookie developers have access to the data that cookies collect on our website. You can read more about this in our cookie statement and the privacy policy of these parties. We never sell your data to third parties.

Where is your data stored?

We store your data in different databases. We always apply strict security measures. East west, home is best: that is why your data is almost always stored within the European Union. In the exceptional case that customer data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, we ensure that your privacy remains appropriately protected. This is official for a number of countries established. Some American parties have registered under it Privacy Shield that offers sufficient protection. Or we work with official ones model contracts that have been specially drawn up to guarantee your privacy.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not store and use your data for longer than necessary. We will then delete all data we have about you. Or we use your data anonymously, because we need certain data for internal analyzes and reports such as the value of your order.

Sounds nice and simple, but how does that work in practice? We maintain certain periods, after which we delete your data. Here they are:

  • We delete recorded telephone conversations after 30 days as standard, unless we have a legal obligation to keep a conversation for longer.
  • We do not store camera images of our stores for longer than 4 weeks. Unless we see something suspicious that we need to investigate further or the images must be kept longer due to another legal obligation.
  • We delete inactive customer accounts after 7 years. After that period, we only use your data anonymously for internal reporting.
  • The tax authorities require us to keep our administration with your invoice, payment and order details for 7 years. After that, we only use anonymous data for internal reporting. You must also keep the invoices for your purchases, for example when your warranty expires.
  • If you have your product repaired or replaced by Arisenn, we will keep your report and contact details for 7 years. We then only use your data anonymously for internal reporting.
  • If you have purchased a mobile subscription through Arisenn, we are required to keep your contract with the telecom provider for 7 years. After that period, we use anonymized data for internal reporting.
  • If you have registered for the newsletter or have given permission to receive personalized messages, we will keep that permission for 5 years. Even if you decide at some point that you no longer want to receive the newsletter or personalized messages, we will keep the withdrawal of your request. We do not store the emails you receive from us for longer than 60 days. So you don't have to worry that you will receive the same email from us more often. After that period, we only use your data anonymously for internal reporting.
  • We keep data that we use to prevent fraud for a very long time. Not fun, but necessary.

What are your rights?

Of course, you remain in charge of your data. Would you like to have free access to your personal data and receive a copy? Or do you want to change, delete, limit use or adjust your email wishes? No problem. You can do this yourself in your My Arisenn account. Or you let us know by post or email. This way you can also object to the use of your data for marketing purposes, the outcome of the credit check if you rent something from us or indicate that you believe that your privacy outweighs our interests. In that case we will reconsider the situation. Would you like us to transfer your data to another party? That is also possible. Send your request by post or email and we will take care of it.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter is a piece of cake. You can do this in your My Arisenn account or via the link at the bottom of the newsletter itself. And do you want no more cookies at all? You can also arrange that yourself. Read how to do this in our cookie statement.

We want to make sure that you are really you. Therefore, we may request additional information from you to determine your identity. We also do this for unclear requests.
